We are at the point where we are starting to see pockets of fall color, and it is very pretty in areas. We are also at the point where a wind and rain storm will knock many of the leaves to the ground. A storm is predicted for later this week.
Here are a few photos from our ride to town yesterday.

And, this morning’s sunrise:

More Alaska photos incoming today! Hoping to finish up with the 2016 trip this week.

Marge and I just returned from a short vacation in North Carolina. The goal
was to visit our son in Flowery Branch, GA. We spent time in the NC hills
nearest Georgia, where we walked to many waterfalls. The COLORS were not
as good as you are showing. It has been very dry (small waterfalls) and the leaves
are falling with much color. Your colors at sunrise are what we want to see.
Thanks
Thanks, Jerry. It changes day by day here. I have the same route I follow to check on the leaves every few days. The sunrise photos are easy – just have to step out our back door.
Beautiful! Nothing better than the fall colors in the northeast. I remember the fun building “leaf forts” and jumping on giant piles of leaves after spending the day raking them up. Remember the smell of burning leaves? I’ll need a picture of your leaf fort after the storm blows through later this week. Lou can start designing it now 😂
Haha! Just what Lou needs – another design project. Yes, do remember jumping in leaves as a kid. The dogs also enjoy romping in them.
