Day One Plus Some

Flights went well, even though it was a very long day. We hooked up with our travel partners in Dallas and the true Adventure began.

This trip came about as a celebration of Olivia’s High School Graduation.  She picked Tory, her sister, to travel with her.  Unfortunately, Tory had to pull out because her volleyball team made the Junior Nationals, which would be played the same week as our travel. Catherine graciously agreed to fill in, and Olivia graciously permitted Mom to go along on her expedition.

Also joining us were Amy and Claudia from California. Amy is a good friend from my college days, and has also become a close friend to Lou.  Claudia is Amy’s sister and also our friend. We have had the pleasure of traveling together on a few Caribbean Cruises, and there are always good stories to share. It will be fun to catch up, and also get the perspective of others on our adventures.

We had a 5 1/2 hour flight to Ecuador from Dallas, arriving at midnite. It was after 1am by the time we arrived at the hotel … more on the hotel tomorrow.
