Acadia … Day One, 17 October 2018

Here are the photos from our first day at Acadia National Park. It was kind of a miserable day … rainy and cold.  Due to the crazy weather patterns during the summer, fall colors were on the spotty side.  Some areas of great beauty, but still lots of trees that had not turned.  We still enjoyed our scenic drive, although we had to forgo the 10 mile hike we had planned ;).  Here is a sampling of what we saw.

Lou was able to get a good shot of this fishing cabin with his zoom and mega pixel camera:

Rather dreary views from the top of Cadillac Mountain.  It was raining harder, and the wind was blowing blowing blowing. We called it a day and headed back to the hotel, in time for a nap and dinner.  One more day to come … will we see the sunshine?

  1. Sorry you had a soggy day for leaf-peeping, but the photos look beautiful. I love the one Lou took of the little fishing cabin. I don’t think there’s anything more beautiful than Acadia’s carriage trails with the stone bridges.
