To be an official website, we need an “About” section. If you’re reading this, you already know us, but just because we always follow the rules:
June 2011: We are retired and enjoy travel. During the winter, we can usually be found in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. When it starts to get hot, we head north to Camden, Maine. While in Camden, we live on our boat. We also have a house in Cave Creek, Az which is currently being taken care of by our friend Mij.
We first started blogging last year, to document our cruise up the Intracoastal Waterway from Florida to Maine. It turned out to be a good way to keep family and friends updated, and we also have a record of our trip. Since then, it’s become a habit. Other than Florida in the winter – Maine in the summer, we don’t have an organized travel schedule. We like to get out to California to see the kids and grandkids, and we would like to visit a lot more of the National Parks.
We both enjoy photography, but Lou’s real passion is designing and building N-scale model railroads. I like video games and building computers, and have been known to zone out for days reading mystery novels. We wish we liked exercise and eating less, but that’s not the case.
We added a puppy to the family in January 2012. Apologies to those of you who dislike dog photos 😉 but Natasha’s life is often more interesting than ours. She certainly gets into more mischief!
Update October 2019: I was going to replace the original “About Us” but decided to leave it for archival purposes. We currently live in Northport, Maine. We recently sold our house in Florida, so we are down to just one house, one boat (not the big one we used to live on).
And we now have two dogs – Natasha & Stitch. We got Stitch when Natasha was about 15 months old. She is now almost 8, and Stitch is 7. Lou is … oops, you don’t care about that.

Comments – Please do leave comments or questions, if you’d like. We’ve made it easy to leave a comment – you don’t need to register or sign up for any spam-a-lot stuff. It’s even free. It would be nice if you sign your name or initials so we can figure out who you are, but it’s also ok if you want to be anonymous and perhaps even use Google Translate to post your comments in German or any language you’d like to use.

I hope both Lou and yourself are doing great as I was wondering if something had happened to ya since you’ve not been online at niche for a year or so.
I saw your pic gallery above and I must say that you are getting much better at taking pictures, they are very nice 🙂
Well I gotta go before I fall asleep, so give my best to big lou and his rock crushing hands, “I am just gradually getting the feeling back in my hand that I shook his hand with all those years ago 🙂 “.

Got myself a chihuhua dog, omg i love the thing and its the size of my shoe and i look stupid when takin it for walks, me being 6ft6 and the dog just a few inches tall lol.
