Stuffed Turkeys

Stuffed turkeys … that is all of us after surviving both a wonderful Thanksgiving Dinner, and the leftovers yesterday.

Kathy & Steve got out for some Black Friday shopping, while Lou & I did our usual stick-close-to-home routine.

We had just a touch of snow Thanksgiving morning, but are bracing for more on Monday. In the meantime, we are starting to get some nice colorful sunrises … this one yesterday was just ok.

Now to start decorating for Christmas!

Dinner is Served!

Sending sincere wishes for a Happy Thanksgiving to all, and the same for the rest of the upcoming holidays. Thanksgiving always seems to mark the start of preparations for Christmas.

Lou and Kathy outdid themselves, and Steve and I very much appreciated it. The turkey and all the accompaniments were wonderful and we ate til we burst. Lou is now scavenging the turkey carcass for soup, while we rest up for pumpkin pie.

Happy Happy Thanksgiving

Hello All! This is the first of what will probably be a few Turkey Day Posts. We started the morning with a brief snow storm, but it is mostly gone now.

Our Thanksgiving table is bountiful, even before the bird flies in. The roses were an Anniversary surprise from Lou, the Pumpkin candle was from Kathy and Steve, and Chrisie and Yan sent the cute harvest figurines.

Stay tuned for more action as the day progresses.

Svalbard – Bears, Bears, Just Bears

14 July 2008

We enjoyed this beautiful bear for over an hour. Lou got some nice shots of the bear enjoying the snow.

Images will enlarge if clicked.

Just a few days left before we head back home with polar bear memories to last a lifetime. Even though we only had interaction with the bears for a few of the days we were out in the ocean, it was enough to make us appreciate their special place in this strange-to-us environment.
