A Quick Update

Just so you know, we are alive and well. We have not had much sleep this week. She-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named has decided nighttime is no longer for sleeping, but is the perfect time to play. Don’t know whether it’s the teething, or the fact that we haven’t been outside as much with all the rain we’ve had. She’s also managed to get into some mischief … Surprise!

Here are some random photos from the week, including a couple of snapshots after her haircut today. I have some nice photos of the birds out back, but will load those up in the next day or so.

Happy Mother’s Day

Wanting to wish everyone a Happy Mother’s Day! And an especially nice wish for Jeannette!

And now, for a little update on the pup. She has been full of mischief lately, as you may have noted from the last post. She has been eating better, perhaps a result of most of her adult teeth coming in, and getting back to her routine.

Unfortunately, that routine has morphed into “Hey, I don’t want to go to sleep now – let’s play some more.” She may soon find out how much fun it is sleeping outside in the courtyard!

And, as you can see, she now thinks the Top of the furniture is a great place to survey the action. This was taken right after her bath, and I was chasing her down to dry her off.

Never a dull day moment around here …

 


What’s this? Another surprise package. This one delivered to me. I opened the package and found this very pretty box. Hmmmmmnnnn, what’s this all about?

 

 

Cookies!!!!!! Even better cookies from Mrs. Fields – I haven’t had one of these since I discovered Amazon and stopped going to the mall.

 

I’m guessing / hoping she had some help with this, because I can only imagine the havoc this dog could wreak with access to our Amazon One-Click ordering account!

Chocolate Flows in the River ???

A surprise package arrived today?

Addressed to both of us.

 

 

Return Address – Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory!?!  We looked at each other with a question mark on our faces. I sliced open the packing slip – Surprise! An early birthday present from Chrisie and Yan. Lou quickly unwrapped the box and hid it in the fridge.

Later this afternoon, while Lou was working napping in his workshop, wearing his Engineer’s Cap, I thought I should make sure the chocolate arrived safely – it’s been hot these past few days.

I carefully opened each box, immediately assaulted by the waft of fresh chocolate, perhaps peanut butter as well.

Fortunately, it looked as though only one piece succumbed to the heat in transit:

 

 

Ummm – and the photos only show the top layer, there’s another row of goodness hiding beneath. I carefully wrapped everything back up, leaving no evidence of the fact that I chose to sample a piece, or perhaps two…

 

 

 

 

Natasha waited patiently for her share of the bounty. Sorry Pup; No Chocolate for Dogs! She settled for a biscuit.

Natasha Cleans the Pool

Natasha loves Thursday mornings. That’s when Gary comes to check the pool. Natasha just loooooves Gary, and fortunately, he likes her too.

She has to supervise the whole operation – mostly from Gary’s lap. She’s not crazy about the pool cleaning equipment – just like she goes crazy anytime we pull a mop or broom out of the closet (which seems to be a lot lately, since she’s managed to knock two glasses off the end tables — grrrrr).

It’s been warm here and humid as well – Lou just loves Florida!

Saturday Night Live … Almost

This is Chuck & Nina’s last evening, as they fly out early tomorrow morning. Have you noticed everyone flies out early from West Palm Beach? Their flight leaves at 8am, which is practically mid-day compared to the last couple exits ;)

We played golf yesterday, had a great meal at Spotos’s. Today, C & N did the tour of Palm Beach, and we completed the day with a relaxing dinner at the River House. That’s a lot of social activity for us old folks!

Back home after dinner, and everyone is ready to hit the sack – we are a lively group!

Chuck & Nina Made It

We were happy to see Chuck & Nina arrive this afternoon.  They’ve been visiting the “South” and will spend a few days with us. Natasha is relieved, since she was worried she’d be stuck with no company after Grandma left this morning.

We’re having a good time catching up.  Spent some time out back enjoying another nice sunset … here’s Chuck:
